2023 & 2024 Progress Report

Message from Nicole Witherbee

Two years ago, the John T. Gorman Foundation deepened its commitment to ensuring that all Maine children are resilient and ready to succeed. Today, we’re excited to share an update on this work through our 2023 & 2024 Progress Report.

In this report, you’ll find:

  • Strategies we’re supporting and testing to help Maine children and families thrive;
  • Data on the impact our partners are having on the families they serve; and
  • Early insights into the factors driving the success of these initiatives and the challenges that are getting in the way.

Our focus over the past two years has been on testing and evaluating approaches that have the potential to address some of the most entrenched issues facing Maine children and families. By sharing these results openly, we aim to help scale effective solutions through practice and policy change.

As these efforts continue—with more data and lessons to come—we hope this report sparks meaningful conversations about what is possible. We value your partnership in this important work. Please keep in touch with your thoughts and questions.

Thank you,

Nicole Witherbee
