Marsha Sloan joined Family Futures Downeast (FFD) in 2017 as its Director. This two-gen collaborative in Washington County combines post-secondary education for parents and early childhood education strategies for young children.
Marsha came to Downeast Maine from Nome, Alaska, with over two decades of experience in social services. She worked primarily for the Nome Community Center as a Substance Use Prevention Specialist, and for the Nome Eskimo Community (NEC), a federally recognized Inupiaq tribe. At NEC, she served in several roles that included managing the Tribe’s Indian Child Welfare, Youth, Housing, and Education programs.
Marsha has earned degrees in English and American Studies from Goucher College; Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst; and certificates in Tribal Government and Human Resources from the University of Alaska.
