Michelle Ferris, LCSW, is Chief Operations Officer at the Aroostook Mental Health Center (AMHC). She oversees AMHC’s operations of all programs and locations across Aroostook, Hancock, and Washington counties. Michelle joined AMHC in 2006 and assumed increasing roles of responsibility within residential, crisis, and outpatient services. In partnership with the senior leadership team, Michelle now works to advance the organization’s mission of providing integrated healthcare services to maximize an individual’s potential to recovery and improve their quality of life.
Michelle holds a BA in Psychology from Alma College, and a MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work, where she studied issues that included homelessness, trauma, addiction, and the justice system. She is a recipient of the NAMI Leadership in Mental Health Award and the Maine Suicide Prevention Program’s Caring About Lives in Maine Award. A native of Michigan, she resides in Presque Isle with her family.
