Katherine leads the development of an Early Childhood Integrated Data System for the State of Maine, a priority of Governor Janet Mills’ Children’s Cabinet. Her work leverages cross-agency data to inform policies that aim to improve outcomes for young children statewide. Areas of focus for the Children’s Cabinet include increasing families’ access to affordable, high-quality childcare and education; increasing access to preventive and early intervention services; and ensuring all Maine children enter kindergarten prepared to succeed. Previously, Katherine led research-practice-policy initiatives for several nonprofit organizations, including Educate Maine, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Transforming Education.
Katherine received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Tufts University and her master’s degree in Policy, Planning, and Management from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine.
Since completing the Fellowship, Katherine has become Director of Research and Strategic Initiatives at Educate Maine.
