Chet is the Deputy Director of Pine Tree Legal Assistance – a statewide legal services agency providing free legal assistance to low-income Mainers – where he has been an attorney for 16 years. Before assuming the role of Deputy Director, he served as the managing attorney for the organization’s Augusta office. His current case load includes cases involving the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act, Maine’s Debt Settlement Act, the Maine Human Rights Act and Fair Housing Act, illegal evictions, and Maine foreclosure law. In 2009, Chet acted as Chair of the Maine Foreclosure Diversion Commission at the request of the Maine Judicial Branch. The Commission report resulted in the creation of the Foreclosure Diversion Program now operated by the Maine Judicial Branch.
Prior to joining Pine Tree, he served as a criminal defense attorney with the Office of Public Advocacy in Anchorage, Alaska. Chet is a 1996 graduate of Northeastern School of Law.
