In his role at United Way of Greater Portland (UWGP), Dan provides oversees community impact efforts tied to United Way’s education, financial stability, and health related goals. Prior to this position, Dan served for two years as Director of Financial Stability & Public Policy at UWGP, developing and implementing strategies with respect to financial stability, public policy, and advocacy related work.
Before coming to UWGP, Dan was Legislative Director and a financial policy analyst at the Maine Center for Economic Policy from 2009-2012. Dan has also worked as an economic development and special projects director and legislative assistant for former Congressman Tom Allen. Dan has clerked for the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and served as a judicial intern with the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and as a Bernstein Fellow with the Maine District Court.
He serves on the Maine Irish Heritage Center Board of Directors and the Great Schools Partnership Board of Directors, and is actively involved in various community collaborations and committees in his professional capacity, including Portland’s Community Development Block Grant Review Panel and a Continuum of Care Planning Group. Dan is a graduate of Bowdoin College and the University of Maine School of Law.
