Jean Cousins

Program Associate

As Program Associate, Jean works with staff and partners to advance the Foundation’s strategies to enhance child and maternal well-being.  She has 20 years of experience working in non-profit organizations serving children, youth, and families.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Jean worked as a consultant developing community schools, collaborating to align local voices and resources around student success.  She also advanced strategies for Partners for Thriving Youth, a federally funded initiative of The Opportunity Alliance to reduce youth substance use.  Previously, she served as the Director of Head Start and Early Head Start at The Opportunity Alliance and held several positions at Partnership with Children in New York City, delivering comprehensive social-service programming to children and families across a variety of public-school settings.

Jean has a B.A. in Psychology from Colby College and a Master of Social Work from New York University. Born and raised in Maine, she currently resides in Falmouth with her husband and two children.
